VLC 0.8.6a not playing movies of rendered 3D model

Postby CRSA_890 » 27 Feb 2007 18:57

All,
I have rendered 3d renderings of a model, made in Vectorworks, but I am having a problem geting VLC to play them.
I am Working on a Mac Pro, 2x2.66 Ghz, 2 GB ram,
Mac OS 10.4.7

Just DL VLC 0.8.6a, and it will not paly the movies i rendered, the Quicktime 7.1.3 will play fine.

It shows a greyed, skewed image of the first frame, then a error comes up stating
"ffmpeg: more than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?)"

I do not know what is going on. I am playing this right off the HD, and not over our local LAN.

Attached is a capture of the screen...

Any Thoughts?
Thanks

What's the file format (plus codecs) of your exported movie? (if you don't know exactly, have a look at QuickTime Player's information panel) Did you run VLC for the first time? (if no, try resetting your preferences)

From what I can tell from VLC under Information on the above movie
Codec rpza
Type Video

RPZA seems to be an Apple Codec?

I tried exporting it under MPEG-4, and VLC played, but it was skewed as shown above.

We had an older version of VLC, and updated to this new version.

How do I go about resetting prefs?

Thanks
