When player is maximized video slows/skips

When i play any movie on VLC and maximize the player, the sound will not match the video and the video will skip.

I figured out what was wrong...just needed to change the video interface to a different setting.

What was the setting before and afterwords? I have never experienced this. Perhaps if there is insufficient memory (system or video) or a video driver issue this could be possible.

I accidently set it to OpenGL and just had to put it either on DirectX or Direct3D for it to work.

I dont think it has to do with insufficient memory...
