Extended GUI cannot be ticked

Postby ismanpa » 26 Jan 2007 11:31

Hello,

I do a new post as I did not get a satisfactory answer in someone else's.

When I play a DVD movie and want to enhance brightness, I am able to open the Extended GUI, but not allowed to tick the boxes. I can do so before I load the DVD, though. Any help?

Thank you!

This is most likely a video driver or DirectX issue. Works normally here using 1/27/07 bug fix for 0.8.6a.

bug?

As far as I know, VLC uses its own drivers. What has your comment about drivers to do with VLC. Also, please give a link to 1/27/07 bug fix for 0.8.6a as I could not find where the bugs are.
Thank you!

VLC uses it's own libraries to decode media files, but uses the drivers of your system for audio and video.

I also have trouble checking the enable box on that menu

One thing I have noticed is that if I am in a maximized screen it does not work...however when it is in the smaller size window it works just fine, change the brightness, THEN I maximize it or go to full screen.

Hope that works for you too.

Thank you very much indeed! I would have never guessed it myself :(

You're welcome!

You might also check this post - it shows how you can save your preferences so that you don't have to keep adjusting brightness, etc every time you open VLC:
