Hallo,
I have a dreambox 7020 (Hydra 1.09) and a PC (WinXP, VideoLAN 0.8.6a [with FF plugin], Firefox 2) wire networked through an hub at 100Mbps.
I am following these instructions to stream from the dreambox to the PC:
1. Using Firefox open the url page of the dreambox: http://192.168.0.ip
2. Choose the channel I want to see
3. On the top right there is a link called VPID, click on that link
4. When asked what software to use to open a *.pls file, select VLC (vlc.exe)
Everything works great with some channels, not so good with other channels suffering a few "buffering" problems: I'll try to explain clearly.
Problems arise when trying to see Mediaset package channels (for those of you living in Europe it's on Hotbird 13 east, 11.919 V, 27500, 2/3).
These channels broadcast with a very high bitrate (always set at 7.8 Mbit/s)... excellent quality indeed, but I am beginning to wonder if, when I watch them through VLC, the rate is too high... at times I have flickering image, trembling and "buffering-like" problems.
No problem whatsoever with channels which have a lower bit rate, hence my conclusion that it must have something to do with the extremely high broadcasting quality of the Mediaset package.
Is there anything I can set up in VLC to properly see every channel?
Thank you
