cannot compile ffmpeg-20040520

i downloaded ffmpeg-20040520
from videolan.org after configuring with the same options
i got a similar result.

/video/ffmpeg-20040220/# make

make: Fatal error in reader: Makefile, line 12: Unexpected end of line seen
always the same error .

i don't understand i tried many options
i'm stuck for a long time
i'm running sol9 sparc
before i did configure --enable-pp --enable-gpl --enable-shared

I'm running Soaris 10 64Bit and I get the same problem.

If anyone can offer advice on why /usr/ccs/bin/make has a problem with lines containing: ifeq

that would be great.
