Mozilla Plugin

Postby Mariano » 09 Jun 2004 16:43

Hi all,

I am trying to use your mozilla plugin in a web page. Now, I get video and audio, but I have some problem, and I don't know if it is my fault, or if there is a configutation value I am forgetting.

I am using layers on my page, so I want to put a layer over the video layer. I am using span tags with different z-index values, but video plugin is allways over other tags.

Do you know if there is some configuration to manage video overlay or something like that?.

Could you help me please?

Thanks in advance,
Mariano.

Problem with the Browser not the plugin

Postby pronerd » 14 Jun 2004 06:55

The issue that is described is more likely a function of the browser not the plug-in. The description given is vague so I dont have much advice. I am not sure why you would want to over lay and block the video. If you dont want them to see it why stream it to them.

Focusing on changing the plug in situation wont do much for you since you wont know what plugs the your end users will be using, and you wont be able to control their configuration.

The problem is that VLC will be drawing the video directly to your screen, i'm not sure how well CSS can deal with that ( I think not at all).
If you configure VLC to run without Overlay, it might work, but to be honest i doubt it very much.

Hi,

How can I configure mozilla plugin in order to disable hardware overlay? Maybe I have to do it from vlc application...

Regards,
Mariano.

if you set this from the vlc prefs, the mozilla plugin will use the same prefs.
