Readung /dev/dvd starts and stop, opening VOB files works

Postby fbab » 29 Oct 2006 09:57

Dear all,

I am running VLC 8.5 on Ubuntu Dapper (6.0.6 LTS).
When I launch the DVD reading on /dev/dvd, it does not work (cf log 1).
When I open each individual files vts_01_1.vob, vts_01_1.vob located in /dev/dvd/video_ts/, it works !
Sorry, but I don't know the origin of my DVD (I do not understand when I read in other post that I am doomed if my player is RPC2 ???).
* log 1 when running from the GUI user interface
* log 2 when running from the comman line interface with command :
** > wxvlc --fullscreen dvd:///dev/dvd

Hope it can help, Anyway thx for the great work already accomplished,

FBAB.
