Green Lines on .FLV videos

Postby cloudeleven » 10 Oct 2006 05:37

I have a bunch of .FLV videos on my computer, but about a third of them have 2 wide vertical green lines on the screen when I try to play them in VLC player. One vertical line goes down the middle of the screen and the other vertical line goes down the right side of the screen. I'm using Windows XP Home SP2 and VLC player version 0.8.4a. I have DirectX 9.0c installed. I know nothing is wrong with the videos themselves. It must be either a bug in VLC player or something with my computer. What can I do to make these green lines go away?

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html
Supported Formats

Though I have heard about this more with 0.8.5, FLV is not fully supported and was experimental in 0.8.4

Not sure if this will change in 0.8.6 or if YouTube will really sell to Google! :P
