FLV woes

Postby God of War » 09 Oct 2006 21:50

I'm trying to play some flv files that I downloaded off the internet. I can seek with the online player. But when I try to play it off the hard drive, VLC has no ability to seek. Also some of these files have video and audio out of sync. Are there any plans to add better support for FLV files.

Here are the messages.......

access_file error: seeking too far
access_file error: seeking too early
access_file error: seeking too early
main error: picture 00C5AC30 refcount is -1

Is there anything planned in the way of improved support?

Have you tried VLC version 0.8.4 ?

I'd try with a 0.9.0 nightly: http://nightlies.videolan.org (these still have bugs ... but FLV should work better than in 0.8.5)

Nope, the latest nightly still can't do any tracking.

Any more ideas? Will this be fixed in the future? I have every episode of futurama and the simpsons in FLV and it would be nice if there was a player that can handle them.
