VLC 8.5 crashing upon open

Postby tempjag » 03 Oct 2006 12:09

Hi,

I have:

VLC 8.5
Windows XP SP2

I just updated my VLC 8.4a to the latest version, but when I installed it over the old version, and then opened it up.. it just crashes.

First, when I click on the shortcut, it opens 2 VLC windows, and I can't click any buttons inside the window, and then after a few seconds, the Windows Reporting window will open.. I got the error:
AppName: vlc.exe AppVer: 0.8.4.0 ModName: libwxwidgets_plugin.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 001a0be0
I tried reinstalling it, but still no luck.
I even tried installing the old version I had before, but it didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks alot!!!

Delete you VLC folder. Read on the FAQ if you don't know where it is.

Hello,

thanks for answering/ :)

actually I already did that, I deleted:

C:\Program Files\VideoLan

And then reinstalled it, but same results. I also tried installing it on :

C:\Program Files\VideoLan\VLC2

But no luck.

Oh. don't worry about it now. I fixed it.. while uninstalling I check delete preferences..

Thanks! :)
