Optimizing for G3

Postby vlcfiend » 11 Sep 2006 02:20

Is there any guide, or anyone also using an old and slow G3 will provide some tips?

I'm using a B&W G3, 300 mhz overclocked to 400mhz, and most stuff plays decently but have random slowndowns, and I'm sure I'm configuring the program the best way.

Thanks for your help.

I'm on a G3 500Mhz with 1 gig of ram and I still see slow downs even with everything closed and all the unnecessary stuff like(tiger 10.4.7) dash board, spotlight, ect. The only thing I can recommend is the mpeg speed up other then that, time to upgrade. The higher quality the video the more it's gonna tax your processor and use more resources. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but you really can't do anything more but upgrade. Good luck.
