Streaming not working

Postby DG » 14 Jun 2006 00:38

Hi, I have a AVERMedia Ultra TV USB 300, if I select in VLC to Open capture device and NOT select the streaming option I can see the movie with VLC player, but when I select the streaming option to be able to see the movie on a other PC, the VLV player do not display the picture, but I see the timer running. I did try HTTP and UDP streaming without success. Is there a way to get this working?
Thanks

VLC only plays the file locally while transcoding and or streaming if you instruct it to "Play locally" in the "Stream output menu", but be aware this does put added weight on your CPU.

If you are having problems with streaming it is best to separate streaming from transcoding and make a transcode locally, then be sure the file plays as expected in VLC. You can also optimize the new file here for the intended purpose. Like bit rate and resolution (size).
