Suggestions for the Next Version

Postby A Friend » 16 May 2006 13:35

Hello,

Here are a some suggestions for the next version:

1. An option that permits to receive -and to record to harddisk- Internet TV and radio.

2. An option that permits t save movies/clips from video-DVDs and tracks from audio-CDs as .MPEG and/or .WAV/.MP3 files ("DVD X PLAYER" has a Save video-DVD Clip as .MPEG File option, but the record time is limited to 15 minutes).

3. It should be possible to copy captures to the Clipboard for the easier use with other programs.

4. Region-DVDs should be supported ("DVD X PLAYER" shows that not only drivers but also applications can bypass the Region code, and AFAIK it is not illegal to bypass it since it is not regarded as part as copy protection, and multiregion standalone DVD players are available.

I hope you will find the suggestions useful and add them soon.

Many greetings,

Already exists (although not very easy to understand for new users).
See http://www.videolan.org/doc/ Streaming Howto
2. An option that permits t save movies/clips from video-DVDs and tracks from audio-CDs as .MPEG and/or .WAV/.MP3 files ("DVD X PLAYER" has a Save video-DVD Clip as .MPEG File option, but the record time is limited to 15 minutes).
Same thing as 1.

You can save captures to disk. That should be enough :) (it's called "snapshot" in the video menu)
4. Region-DVDs should be supported ("DVD X PLAYER" shows that not only drivers but also applications can bypass the Region code, and AFAIK it is not illegal to bypass it since it is not regarded as part as copy protection, and multiregion standalone DVD players are available.
VLC is already able to do that as long as you don't have an RPC2 DVD drive. If you do you're doomed. (we'd be glad to know about any program able to bypass RPC2 protection)
I hope you will find the suggestions useful and add them soon.
Always glad to help :D
