bug: moz plugin doesn't register itself for application/ogg

Postby beej » 22 Feb 2006 22:01

using the mozilla plugin that came with 0.8.4a, firefox's about:plugins shows that "VLC multimedia plugin" is registered for the deprecated application/x-ogg, but not the correct application/ogg.

see RFC 3534

could somebody with access to Trac please file a bug report?

tia,
marc

Thanks for the tip. Friday's nightly build should take this change into account.

thanks for the speedy fix, dionoea :)

i tried to install from http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... -win32.exe and ended up with a non-working plugin setup. about:plugins in firefox no longer even shows the VLC plugin.

my npvlc.dll doesn't even show a version tab when i pull up it's properties. it has this md5: 6ab70bdbc8cf2875bed0c8bda0479a2c

is that the behavior you see?

the mozilla plugin might be broken because of another untested change ... i'll revert it and try to find another way to fix the problem i had. Tomorrow's nightly should be ok (i hope)
