AAC+ encoding

I have seen some source code around for AAC+ encoding.
Could this be implemented into VLC ?
I don't know about licensing, but the source code seems to be there.

I would also like to see this feature in VLC, since HE-AAC is a defacto the best audio codec so far and all the other codecs just can't compare to it..
