Yes, videolan does lock up very often when you move the slider bar. In fact, it locks up on me about 100% of the time whenever I play ANY video. Although I love this media player and the features it offers, it gets pretty annoying. I constantly update versions of VLC - this seems to be a common problem with ALL versions.
P.S. My computer is a Dell Dimension 3000 P4 3.0 GHz computer with 512 MB of DDR memory. It comes with a Intel Accelerated Video Card and on-board sound card. So, I don't think speed is the issue...
I would like to add something to this earlier entry. I just downloaded the latest nightly build and installed it. The same problems occurs, EXCEPT it says: "This AVI file is broken. Seeking will not work correctly. Do you want to try to repair it (this might take a long time)?" If I repair it, the video runs and tracks perfectly. If I don't repair it, the video tracking does not work (In fact, the progress bar does not show at all).
Yes, the video runs flawlessly in Windows Media Player - without having to change anything. This new error message is helpful (might help me with digital video editing), but VideoLan should find a workaround (HINT: Windows Media Player seems to have developed a workaround).
