VLC 3.6 Apple TV last version

Postby Viking31 » 10 Dec 2024 11:37

I just bought an Apple TV, the last up -to -date firmware.
I installed VLC, regulates by Default.
My NAS is well detected. When I read a video from the NAS or my PC via SMB, my video is not fluid.
It looks like it loses framework, so, it gives the impression of micro freeze. The same video when it is read from the NAS on the iPad is perfectly fluid.
I don't know how to solve this problem?

The software we publish for iPad and Apple TV is exactly the same except for the user interface.

There might be two reasons for the issue you have:
* the iPad is newer and much faster that your Apple TV with a stronger CPU so it is better at decoding
* WiFi reception where your iPad is is much better than where your Apple TV is

To find out whether this is the latter, consider storing a video on your Apple TV for playback using the "Remote Playback" feature and see if it solves the issue.
