I've used VLC media play a few years ago. No issues. Today downloaded VLC from Microsoft app store (3.0.20 Vetinari). Fairly new laptop which has windows 11.
Trying to convert AVI to MP4 but not getting sound. Source file is not in the cloud but rather on C drive folder.
I used several online tutorial videos such as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DwzsI6q31w and it clearly reinforces that I'm doing things right. Went to Audio settings and output module set to automatic, HDMI/SPDIF is disabled (standard setting I believe) and Device is default. Converting to - H.264 + MP3 (mp4)
I did a search in VLC FAQ and here - only finding super technical issues/solutions. I'm not a guru like many of you - there are no special add-ons or other software apps on this laptop - just a basic home laptop nearly straight out of the box.
Any suggestions?
