Unable to Access Local Folders on iOS 15.8.2

Hi.

I recently updated VLC on my iPhone running iOS 15.8.2 to version 3.6.0. Each time I click on "local files" and select to open a "folder" or "files", it directs me to an authorization page to grant access to folders, with lines saying "Access will be granted to On My iPhone" or something. But after I select the folder and click "done", it does not open the folder but just closes the authorization page, and it shows the same authorization page every time I try again. I have checked that I have granted VLC to access files and folders in the iOS privacy settings.
