Reading H264 video LAN with UDP protocol

Postby dezbhnijok » 03 Jun 2024 18:00

Hello, I have an Ethernet video Camera streaming through my RJ45 port.
It streams H.264 video using UDP protocol. With Wireshark I can see that the video is running.
However when I use the .sdp file containing the following information :
"v=0
m=video 5004 RTP/AVP 96
c=IN IP4 192.168.1.5
a=rtpmap:96 H264/90000"
I have random things appearing. The dimensions of the window are changing and some random pixels appear. The screen is blinking in different colours and sometimes I have a black or a green screen…
I have used a camera dedicated software to see the video and it is functioning. But I need to make it work with VLC.
For information, the IP of the camera is 192.168.1.5
Do you have any idea of what should I do to make it work please ?
Thank you in advance for your precious help

The SDP description is missing a lot of parameters, and that's assuming that the stream is RTP/AVP.
