Video split is not accurate: anything I can do?

Postby mikomasr » 26 May 2024 10:53

Hello,

I use View - Advanced controls to extract segments from a video, by recording specific parts of it. However the start and end points are never accurate. I make sure to click on the Record (red circle) button exactly when I want the recording to start, yet it actually starts only 2-3 seconds later. Same with the end: when I click on the same button again to stop the recording, the resulting file actually stops a few seconds after the scene where I wanted it to stop.
I wonder what causes this significant latency and if there’s a possible fix or a way around it.

Thanks!

VLC is not an editor. You'd better use a dedicated video editor tool such as AviDemux:
