unable to play http icecast stream

I'm trying to connect to a my icecast http live stream server via the iOS app but I can't seem to get It working. the stream works on my Mac with vlc. and on phone with the web browser and other apps but trying to find an app that works with both iOS and android so I can share the stream with friends that have android.
in the app I'm going to network tab punching in the server http://myserverip:8000/stream and in it says playback failed pops me back top the network tab
is there some setting I'm missing to set the protocol to http?

We need a debug log from you to say why this is failing. Enable logging in the settings of VLC, try the playback and then provide us with the log that you find in the "logs" folder within the VLC directory accessible through the Files.app. Thanks!
