MP4 video not rotated during rendering to chromecast

Postby ddb » 18 Feb 2024 12:02

Hi, I encountered a small problem.
I recorded a MP4 video on my GoPro camera.
Because my GoPro is mounted upside down, the MP4 video seems to be recorded with a 'Rotation 180°' setting in the MP4 file.
With eg. MediaInfo program this setting is clearly visible.
This MP4 file is however correctly displayed (with automatical rotation) when I use VLC media player on my windows laptop with 'rendering to local laptop screen'.
But if I change the rendering setting in VLC to my Chromecast (instead of local screen), the video is displayed upside down on my TV with chromecast connection.
Is this a bug or is it 'technically' not possible to rotate when rendering to chromecast ?
Kind Regards, Dirk
