Always on top

I am using Always on top on mx-linux and it no longer works. It used to work but now only displays a black screen, even though the controls are still visible and showing the counters that the video is playing.VLC was installed using flatpak.

Strangely if I use the mx-linux repository it works.

This is using version 3.0.18 on mxlinux 21.3

When I install from mx-linux distro the same version 3.0.18 it works. But it does not work when I install using flatpak from flathub.
