Java required?

From time to time, when loading a Blu-ray disk that was extracted by MakeMKV, I get the following message in the Errors and Warnings window and I can't play the menus:

Java required
This Blu-ray disc requires Java for menus support.Java was not found on your system.
The disc will be played without menus.

I do have Java installed on my Mac but I guess I need to let VLC know where to find it?
