Playback of local xvid files on ipad

Hello,

When i play any local video file stored on my ipad i select open in vlc, it briefly opens the file then the video screen disappears but i can hear the audio playing. Am i doing something wrong? Thank you.

Do you see it in a minimized bar at the bottom of the screen?
