VLC Network Sharing Not Working

Simply put, I have shared folders from my PC over local network and no folder is being recognized by VLC on any android or IOS device. Plex is still working as normal on all devices using the same folders, but VLC isnt recognizing anything. All Im getting is "The directory is empty" and on my Shield its saying "VLC is unable to open MRL...". Have no idea how and why this happened but Ive tried to fix it all morning to no avail. Can someone please give me some pointers. Thanks in advance.
