Searchable UPnP/dlna titles

I'm running a dlna service on Linux. With my (old) Android and BubbleUPnP I can easily do a very fast partial search on the literally thousands of titles offered on that server. Opening a Playlist in VLC I don't seem to be able to do that. There is a search field in the upper right corner, but actually it doesn't deliver any search result. I do think it could be an improvement of VLC; a huge improvement in my case; with hundreds of folders and subfolders and thousands of items, if it could deliver a search result on the server content. I guess, as of now it only searches the playlist, but not the content.
