VLC Duplicate Display

I upgraded to IPhone 14 and use HDMI cable to watch videos on tv

The TV perfectly mirrors my phone, however when I play a video through VLC both my phone and tv get the black screen stating it is playing on my TV. The audio of the video plays perfectly through my TV but the video doesn't appear only the message

This is what I've done
Confirmed all my vlc setting match to my IPad which does show the black screen on the IPad but shows the video on the TV
Contacted Apples Support and isolated the issue to VLC.

I'm stuck and would appreciate any assistance the group can provide.
