Can not convert Video_TS folder to MP4 Quicktime

Using VLC 3.0.18

I tried to follow all the How To Video and can not make it work.

I create a file that does have MP4 tagged to it and it can not be opened in Quicktime or Play in VLC.

I want to convert a 8MM DVD-R recorded on a Sony Camcorder to a MP4 file that I can send to a lot of people.

Created a new profile as per this video.

Don't see a Media Menu on this version of VLC.
Don't see Convert and Save so I used Convert / Stream
After I process the Folder I do not get a saved MP4 file.

What am I doing wrong.

It seems it can not fully open the Video_TS folder?

Can I convert an a Video_TS folder?

When I select the folder to open, does not open all the files in the folder for conversion?

I want to open and convert the entire TS Folder not just a file.
How do I do that?

So I followed these instructions and when I started the conversion it took 0 seconds and nothing got converted.

So the conversion never started.

What am I doing wrong with the above directions?
