No 'Renderer' showing up with minidlna

Postby udippel » 08 Jan 2023 21:01

I have a setup with a dual-boot, Kubuntu and W10. With W10 and its Explorer, I can send a video to my TV, Sony Bravia.
AFAIK, on *nix this is supposed likewise to work with minidlna and the Renderer in VLC. Alas, that one shows 'Scanning ...' and remains grey.
As far as I can see, the minidlna works, it shows under "Server Display Settings" as well as "Succeed" under "Server Diagnostics" in "Home Networks Setup" on the TV. However, under "Render Access Control" it will never show. However, the W10 machine becomes visible as soon as I send a file. It even pops up after deletion; with the next file that is sent to the TV.

How could I avoid the W10 machine and send my files through VLC?
