AAC to AC3

Postby Loa46 » 14 Oct 2022 20:52

Ladies and Gentlemen
I have owned a DENON AVR-2807 since August 3rd, 2009, with which I could hear the surround broadcasts of Bayerischer Rundfunk without any problems. The ARD radio stations have now switched their surround broadcasts to AAC since January 2022. Therefore, after detailed consultation, I bought a TechniSat HD-S 223 DVR receiver on 03/18/22. I was assured that this device could solve my problem because it has multimedia playback. The HD-S 223 DVR now receives a "qsr/AAC" audio track for surround broadcasts. However, if the receiver is properly set up and connected to the amplifier (DENON AVR-2807) via SPDIF or HDMI, only the VL and VR channels are displayed. I asked DENON and they told me the following:
"We got in touch with TechniSat for you and they were able to confirm that the HD-S 223 DVR cannot convert AAC signals. This means: The HD-S 223 DVR receives the AAC signal and passes it on to our AVR unchanged However, it cannot receive an AAC signal, which is why you still cannot hear surround.
One solution to your problem would be to get a system capable of converting AAC signals so the AVR can decode them, giving you surround sound again."
Now my question: The VLC Mediaplayer 3.0.17.4 Vetinari can play back the TSA files under which the AAC programs are saved, but only the VL and VR channels. Is there a plug-in or setting to transfer all channels to the DENON AVR-2807?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kind regards
