Link to playlist from Home Screen

Is there a way to link to a locally stored playlist directly from a home screen icon or shortcut. I read about the x-callback-url
scheme in the documentation, as well as saw the vlc:// pseudo protocol mentioned in a few places. Also checked the sharing panel, but didn't see an "add to home screen" type option.

I'm sure I could link to the locally stored videos directly, but was hoping to open to a specific playlist.

Setting up an iPad for elderly user, so simplicity is key here.
