Unable to set auto display of specific language subtitles

Postby Shadow0013 » 23 Jan 2022 20:35

Hello there,

I am currently trying to set VLC to automatically display the subtitle of all videos on opening that can either be found in the mvk file itself, or in the folder the video file is in. (Or if none exists, then ofc nothing should be displayed).

I would like to have this subtitle priority set:
1. Hungarian
2. English
3. Any

I have tried inputting to the "Prioritized subtitle language" field in the Settings/Subtitles(OSD) the following combinations, none of them worked after reopening the MKV file: (Ofc should be interpreted without the quotes.)
"hu, en, any"
"hun, eng, any"
"hungarian, english, any"
"Hungarian, English, Any"

Please note my VLC is in Hungarian, so I am not a 100% certain if things perfectly match my translation here, but their meanings should be obvious enough :)

My VLC version is 3.0.16, I searched for updates and it says I have the most recent installed.

Looking forward to your answers. Thanks for your time :)

Oh yeah, spaces are not removed by VLC on interpretation... A little thing you guys should change, so that it allows spaces after the commas. That way it would not become hard to read if someone decided to have a longer list, plus it would look nicer and cleaner :)

The "hu,eng,any" worked.

Thanks :)
