upnp on VLC

Postby hornetster » 11 Jan 2022 11:55

Running Opensuse Tumbleweed, and using Wifi to connect directly to my main Fritzbox router, and trying to connect to a number of local network upnp devices.
Initially installed the VLC available in the package manager, configured the firewall to allow the devices access through the firewall, then changed that to the one provided by Packman repo, as was not having a lot of luck (with the upnp side of things...)
Have now even updated to the specific VLC repo for Tumbleweed (URL: http://download.videolan.org/SuSE/Tumbleweed).
Can now connect to all the upnp sources, BUT:
2 of those are on local routers (Fritzbox / Asus), and as soon as opening VLC, these are visible.
Another 2 sources are on a Ubuntu PC connected to the Fritzbox (my main modem/router) via ethernet, and these appear anywhere up to 25 minutes after VLC is opened, and upnp selected.
The one I am particularly interest in is connected via the Fritzbox, via WiFi, is a Fetch DVR, and can take up to 40 mins to appear. Once connected, works fine.
As far as I can tell, there appears to be no way to speed up this detection??
Anyone aware as to what the problem could be?
Thanks, John.
