screen:// and streaming to file completely freezes computer

hi

in the past i've succesfully made screen-recordings using the 'screen://' url in the Open File dialog, and advanced output > scream to file.

but now if i try to do this, it almost completely freezes the machine.. i'm still able to more/less drag the window around, but anything else is frozen. the clock stopped, menumeters froze etc...

also force-quit through control+commmand+power or by option-click in the dock-icon all don't work.

is 'screen://' officially unsupported or is this a bug?


i tried several encodings for the file top stream to. all to the same result:freeze.
