I am using VLC many years without problems. Few days ago i have to replace HDD in desktop.
Hdd died and I have to re-install WinOS XP 32 on our old music-box desktop
I have fresh WinXP 32bit (x86) SP1 + SP3 installed on NEW HDD PC is super fast
but i have weird problem after installing full patches on Windows.
When I have installed only SP1 everythink was fine. I updated Windows on ServicePack3 (SP3)
Turn OFF Windows Firewall. Make allow rules for Antivir and I am not able open
any online content (URL) from VLC player.
cygwin wget, winamp, mediaplayer, mplayer(ffmpeg) all are working without any problems!
Only VLC player is not able open any online resource (mp3/audio or mp4/video)
I am struggling with this stupid problem last 2 days.
I removed all Aplication layer filters (netsh reset winsocks)
booted to safe + networking mode - There is no Antivirus active
I tested VLC 3.0.11 or 3.0.16 Vetinary dowloaded homepage and all are not working.
I am not able debug deeper VLC so i cant understand why ONLY VLC is not able open any TCP/IP connection and others program like Winamp are working fine.
I may listen shoutcast/podcast in winamp now but youtube is missing
My old Windows Instalation worked 10years? why the F... is not working now...

I want use update from menu HELP\Check for updates - and there is
A error occured while checking for updates.
This make me to idea somethink is blocking network communication
I tried open http (no SSL/TLS) and https URL with same negative result.
VLC is working fine on local content but i cant listen podcast or watch YT videos now.
Could you help me how to find what is failling probably I will be able
disable or fix something in Windows or replace some DLL or restard or reinstall some services but I am really no idea what is blocking ONLY VLC.
