VLC as editor, Timeline

Postby Joelw » 26 Jan 2021 23:25

I have supported vlc and made a donation. I have used VLC as a player on and off for about 20 years, or close. Today my question stems from seeing vlc used as a timeline editor. I see posts talking about it, but not a clue as to where it is. Perhaps I am not so smart, but if it does exist and it seems to, where is it?

I am running Win 10 professional, and have a 3.6 ghrz processor, with 32 G of Ram.

VLC is not an editor.
Long time ago there was VLMC but AFAIK it has not been updated for ages.

There are a few minor editing features you can use in vlc as described in this tutorial.

Failing that Shotcut is an excellent open source video editor which I've used myself: https://www.shotcutapp.com/
