A to B Loop

Postby ykt28403 » 17 Jan 2021 01:26

Are there plans to be able to add IN and OUT points that one can see (like Quicktime Player 7) instead of this very confusing, finicky, and unreliable "A-->B Loop" option? I can never tell when VLC "accepts" an A or B point I put in. I usually set the A point (or so I thought), then set the B point, then try playing back and realize the A point didn't "stick" so nothing happened. Or, it will put the A and B point in almost the same place and be stuck in an infinite loop (when Repeat is on) for which I have to Force Quit. Or, I'll get the spinning wheel of death and have to Force Quit.

VLC is my preferred player for almost everything EXCEPT for this annoying, outdated "A-->B Loop" option, for which I have to use QT Player 7. Is there any reason VLC hasn't changed this feature to something more straightforward (like QT Player 7) after all these years? Are there any plans to change this?

I'd like to include a screenshot but the "Img" thing is confusing. Why isn't there a way to upload to image to include in my post?
