truncated video on chromecast

Hello,
I stream with a playlist of short videos (mp4 from 30 to 80MB) continuously on a chromecast via vlc 3.0.11.1 with a mac mini under catalina 10.15.7.
For some time now, the videos don't go to their end ... the next video starts before the previous one ends.
I don't know what to do about this problem. I take any advice.

I’m also having issues with VLC on a Mac (latest OS and versions) steaming to Chromecast. Video starts streaming then stops. Timeline doesn’t seem to represent the actual file length. So after 3 mins of a 30min show the scrub/timeline is 3/4 the through. Then it stops.
