does VLC support multi processor?

Postby Guest » 31 Dec 2005 03:28

I have seen in the document there is a parameter "threads="
it saids that vlc can support multi processor with this parameter set to the number of the processor
but i can use this in windows XP,this does work
but in Fedaro core 4 with SMP module, this doesn't work anymore.
Only one CPU use when i start the vlc.
are there anyone who can help me and tell me why
thank you very much:)
i have seen a article about how to use multi processor in linux
the link is http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/c ... inity.html
dose it mean that vlc does not use the affinity so that it can't support multi processor in Linux:(
it's very important for me,thank you
