How to keep playlist after VLC is closed?

Postby cervenak » 07 May 2020 14:46

Hi VLC is great player I love it,

but how can I keep playlist after the VLC is closed (without the saving it). For example: I load some folder to playlist (drag n drop from total commander eg.) but when the VLC is closed and open again the playlist is empty. So that is very annoying to browse the folder a drop it again. Other players have this feature and it is very common so I hope it has VLC too.

Is there any settings ar any workaround or so to keep the last playlist content?

Note: It would be greate that last files will be played. I have lot of tutorials and educational videos and is annoying to remember and browse the last video.

thanks

Did you ever save the playlist. i have no problem with mine. once i save it, i can always double click it and play it again and again after i quit VLC. If you do save it, i don't know what's going on.

I too find it extremely odd that this isn't a feature... I'm not sure what language all the coding is done in, but there must be a way to say "if user exits program then save current playlist to their local folder"....?? And then when they open VLC it should check for that file and if it's there read in the playlist. It shouldn't be a manual "save your playlist" (unless you specifically want to) and "load your playlist"....
