Chromecast isn't working in VLC on Linux (PONG received from the Chromecast)

I'm trying VLC ( 3.0.8 ) with chromecast (on Debian testing Linux) connecting to BenQ GV1 projector.

Nothing comes up on the projector, and I see these messages in the terminal:

Any idea what can be wrong?
