Can't play DVD of Harry Potter

The DVD Harry Potter has to be played with the "interactual player", but I don't want an own media player for this one this task. Can I play it with the VLC media player, too?

Because, if I insert the disk and want to play the film, it doesn't work, just the sound doesn't work anymore, even if I shut down VLC and remove the DVD.
If I load the DVD over "Volume", I can see some pictures if I set the right track, but there's no sound and I can't get into the DVD menu...
