VLC via OSX commandline

Postby dronecatcher » 25 Nov 2019 15:11

How can I instruct VLC via Terminal to play a video with an undecorated window and no controller (playback control via keys only) and quit when finished? Also is it possible to pass frame skipping options too - I have checked the internal help but everytime I use a parameter VLC becomes unstable. Lastly, I'd ideally like to do this on versions as old as 0.8.6i - is it possible?

Check the command line doku and use the newest version of VLC, all older version shall not be used anymore as they have open security problems.
