How to setup default Audio Device to (Encoded Output) ?

Postby GregMTHZ » 13 Nov 2019 11:32

Hello,

I'm using VLC 3.0.8 on a Mac mini in a home theater system. I have a Marrantz surround amplifier, connected to the Mac mini via optical jack.

It works great for Dolby an DTS movies, as well for any audio file format, but I have to manually choose "(Encoded Output)" in the "Audio / Audio Device" menu. The setup is resetted each time I quit VLC.

How can I force the Encoded Output as my default setting ? It was easy on a previous version of VLC but I can't remember...

There is a bug in the current version which prevents that. See ticket 21170
