VLC, nvidia and Tv-Out

Postby dacer » 16 Dec 2005 13:19

Hi, I have a Amd64 system with a nvidia n6600gt graphics card (support HDTV output). I use debian amd64 and nvidia driver. I have a crt and a TV conected to this card

Now I have nvidia driver to "clone" vga signal to tv (tv-out), so I can watch vlc on Tv. I have to set vlc window size as TV size. Desktop is 1024x768 and TV is only 640x480, so VLC window mus be 640x480 and have to be in a specific position.

Well, I will like to get vlc to output to TV directly. One way, can be to set nvidia driver to display 2 differents desktop, one for crt and another for tv, and set vlc to display (but not always) on second desktop (tv), and set fullscreensize.

I will prefer if vlc can output to its own window on crt, and on entire tv, but I surely this must be allowed on nvidia driver.

Any suggest to get it?

Thanks for replies, and thank you for vlc
