Trying to archive Burning Man Information Radio off of IHeartRadio's feed

Postby DenverBowie » 27 Aug 2019 01:27

I'm trying to record the actual BMIR feed coming off of I♥Radio. In previous years, I'd been grabbing the shoutingfire feed (https://shoutingfire-ice.streamguys1.com/live), but that doesn't seem to be what's going out from BMIR.org (which redirects to https://www.iheart.com/live/bmir-945-8378/)

Happy to provide my teeny original script upon request, but the meat of it is:
cvlc --stop-time=3660 --play-and-exit --sout="#transcode{ascodec=mp3,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:std{access=file,mux=raw,dst="$_file"}" https://shoutingfire-ice.streamguys1.com/live

It appears that the new stream is coming from http://c11icyelb.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/8378_icy, but when I plug that into my script, I get what appears to be a recording, but it's silence and the time counter doesn't advance. The same link streams just fine from within Safari, Chrome, and VLC itself, but the output file is just blank.

I don't really care about the transcoding, but I don't know how else to do it. I can always transcode it afterwards.

Any assistance anyone could provide on how to get this working for I♥Radio or knows of another link to what's actually being broadcast would be most grateful. Won't you please, please help me?

I'm listening with immediacy, but love my BMIRchive and it's come in handy to DJ's who for whatever reason couldn't get a copy of their show elsewhere and it's a nice gift to give them.

Many thanks!!
