I am currently using VLC paler 3.08 Vetinari on Windows 10. On previous versions, I was able to play .rar files without extracting
I am unable to do this in ver 3.08. I have to fully extract the file now before playing. Can you please put this feature back?

I see the same issue:
VLC 3.0.8 x64, Win10 x64 Home
VLC fails to play most of my videos that are inside multipart rar archive (I access via SMB). Somtimes (rarely) VLC even crashes (I get a dialog the next start).
When I try to play the same video/rar with Media Player Classic, it works.
