impossible to put subtitles on top

Postby rafalo » 22 Jul 2019 11:05

Hi

I'm using VLC 3.0.4 on Mac OS 10.13.2 with an mkv file containing subs and it is impossible to put subtitles on top of the screen (it is at the bottom by default).

I've played around in advanced prefs with the following menus:
-video>subtitles>video of graph>X position
-video>subtitles>mosaic
-video>subtitles>text>position
-input/codec>subtitles>
-video>filters > crop (with video>filters>crop activated)

Nothing modifies the subtitles position...Any idea?

In the advanced options, under Video -> Subtitles / OSD, set "Force subtitle position" to a large positive value (positive values push the subtitles up, negative values push them down). It will never push them "outside" of the video (I set it to 4000 and the subtitles were placed at the very top edge of the video).

Note that you need to restart VLC for the change to take effect.
